What is Loss of Use?
Loss of Use Coverage provides you with a replacement vehicle or reimburses you for your transportation costs, while your vehicle is being repaired or replaced after being damaged by an insured peril.
What is Liability for Damage to Non-Owned Automobile(s)?
Also known as rental vehicle coverage. This option extends your policy coverage when you rent a vehicle in Canada or the US. Avoid the need to purchase insurance from the car rental agency. Some limits apply.
For customers renting a vehicle once a year or more frequently, this can equal significant savings.
What is Collision Coverage?
Collision Coverage covers damage to your vehicle caused by collision with another vehicle or object, upset of the vehicle, or in the event of a hit-and-run. This is optional coverage and is subject to a deductible.
What is a Driving Record Abstract?
A driving record abstract may refer to one of several documents requested by your insurance company:*
Motor Vehicle Report or Abstract: This lists your class of driver's licence, convictions or suspensions, and sometimes the date of when you first obtained your licence. The information provided in this report varies by province
Auto Plus Report: This report is a complete picture of an automobile insurance policy and claims history
Driver's licence history: In Ontario, this report provides a detailed driver's history including proof of successful completion of a Ministry-approved driver's training course
Statements from government insurers
*Requirements and documents may vary in Quebec.
What is meant by "Passenger Share"?
The Passenger Share option is designed for drivers who use their own vehicles to carry paying passengers, such as carpooling for a fee, or for carrying passengers as part of their employment, such as a social worker taking a client to an appointment. This does NOT apply to drivers carrying passengers for for-profit ride-sharing usage, such as Uber.*
*Not applicable in Quebec.
What does No-Fault insurance mean?
No-Fault Insurance means you deal with your own insurance company for a claim, regardless of who is at fault for the accident. This means you can be reimbursed without waiting for legal responsibility to be decided for most types of injuries.
Fault is still assigned, even though we use the term no-fault insurance. Insurance companies estimate the degree of fault assigned to each driver as it affects premiums. In Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Ontario, and PEI, this is based on fault charts or rules, to help keep decisions fair and consistent.*

What is an Insurance Liability Card?
